Maria Llop is full professor in the Department of Economics at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). From 2003 to 2006, she was the Secretary of the Department of Economics at the URV. From September 2010 to November 2013, she was the Director of the Center for Research in Industrial Economics and Public Economics (CREIP) at the URV. She is currently the Director of the Department of Economics (July 2022).
She received her degree from the University of Barcelona, and in 2001 she obtained her PhD in Economics from the URV with a thesis that won the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize.
In research, her interests include computable general equilibrium models and multi-sector models, with applications to public economics, economic impact analysis and environmental economics. His publications have appeared in journals such as Ecological Economics, Energy Policy, Environment and Planning A, Regional Studies, Annals of Regional Science, Journal of Industrial Ecology, Journal of Policy Modeling and Investigaciones Económicas, among others.
